The NHS offers various screening progames to help identify various diseases. Screening is a process of identifying apparently healthy people who may be at increased risk of a disease or condition. They can then be offered information, further tests and appropriate treatment to reduce their risk and/or any complications arising from the disease or condition.
While the UK National Screening Committee makes UK-wide policies, it is up to each part of the UK to determine when, and how, to put those policies into practice.
This means that there will be some differences in what screening services will be available depending on whether you live in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales. Please use the link below to find out more information about the screening programmes available to patients within this area.
